Jody Pena

Jody M. Pena, M.P.T., joined the faculty of the Physical Therapist Assistant program in June 2011. She received both her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (Cum Laude, and Who’s Who Among College and University Students) in 1998, and her Master of Physical Therapy Degree, in 2000, from Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar Missouri. Before graduating as a physical therapist, Ms. Pena’s  career in healthcare included working as a certified nurse assistant for 4 years; as a physical therapy technician for 16 years;  and then as a physical therapist assistant for 2 years. As a Physical Therapist, she has had the opportunity to provide therapy for patients ranging from pediatrics through senior adults in settings that include hospitals, long term care facilities, outpatient clinics, military orthopedic clinics, and industrial facilities providing ergonomic assessments. Ms. Pena’s training is varied, with emphasis in orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, and work conditioning. She is a member of the APTA and the MPTA, and formerly served as the secretary of the Southwest District for the MPTA.  Personally, Jody is a mother of 5 children and a grandmother of 2. She has personal interests in photography, singing, cooking, and travel.
