OTC Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) provides specialized instruction to help students build or refresh basic academic skills necessary for collegiate studies. We offer assistance in several areas including English as a second language, preparation for the Missouri high school equivalence (HSE) exams, and the post-secondary transition to higher education and employment.
Our classes are free, and the courses are tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs. Our faculty consult with students individually to discuss their educational goals and then develop a lesson plan accordingly.
This program is designed for post-secondary students transitioning to higher education. Students work at their own pace in small groups or individually with materials suited to their abilities.
We also offer special assistance to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Through our program, you will have the opportunity to work with an instructor fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), who will help you master the skills needed for broader academic life.
