OTC Physical Therapist Assistant Program

The OTC Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program prepares students to provide effective physical therapy and client care under the supervision of a physical therapist. PTAs make a positive difference in the lives of people with healthcare problems stemming from injury or disease. They work as a vital part of the physical therapy team, aiding clients’ recovery and return to a more functional lifestyle.

The program trains students to provide appropriate interventions based on proven research, assist physical therapists with data collection, document client interventions, and to interact with clients and their families.

The PTA Program is offered at the OTC Richwood Valley Campus in Ozark, MO. Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Physical Therapist Assistant. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that the employment outlook for PTAs is expected to increase much faster than average for all occupations. Graduates find work in outpatient clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and other health and fitness organizations.

The Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Ozarks Technical Community College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
