Becky McKnight, PT, MS
Becky McKnight P.T., M.S. is an academic faculty member of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Ozarks Technical Community College. Becky graduated from St. Louis University with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1992 and from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions with a post-professional M.S. in Physical Therapy in 2000. Becky was instrumental in helping OTC develop the PTA program and served as the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education through the program’s candidacy and initial accreditation. She subsequently served as the PTA Program Director from 2001 – 2010. From 2007 to 2023 Becky provided consultation services for PTA program nationwide in the areas of curriculum development, instructional design, curriculum & program assessment, and accreditation. She has been actively involved in the physical therapy profession serving in various capacities on the local, state, and national level. Most notably associated with physical therapy education, Becky served on the Models of Physical Therapy Delivery Task Force, the Consultant Group on the development of the Educational Leadership Institute for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and APTA’s Taskforce to revise the Normative Model of Physical Therapist Assistant Education. Becky’s contribution to the profession and physical therapist assistant education was recognized in 2009 with the F.A. Davis Award for Outstanding Physical Therapist Assistant Educator. Becky’s previous clinical experience included providing rehabilitative services for infants, adults, and geriatric patients in various settings, including acute care, skilled nursing care, long-term care, outpatient, and inpatient rehabilitation. Becky enjoys sharing her love of the profession with her students.
