Request a Prerequisite Waiver or Course Substitution

Wondering if you can take 2 classes at the same time, even though one is a prerequisite for the other?

 

The BCS faculty have carefully considered the prerequisites for each course, so, your best chance for success is to follow our course sequencing.

However, we realize that for some students and some situations an exception to our course sequencing might be appropriate or necessary.  So, if you’d like request a prerequiste waiver from the Department Chair, please click on the icon below to start the process.

Your request will be evaluated based on:

• your previous academic record (grades, course load, etc.)
• if you have taken college-level courses before
• your previous experience/exposure to the healthcare field
• your soft or essential skills – things like time management, and GRIT

Wondering if you can substitute one class for another in your BCS degree?

 

The BCS faculty have carefully considered which courses will provide you the best preparation for a career in an Allied Health field, so, your best chance for success is to complete the degree as it is presented.

However, we realize that for some students and some situations, a substitution may be appropriate or necessary.  So, to request a course substitution, please email the Department Chair at elderv@otc.edu
