Applicants can meet the minimum credentials threshold for Biological Clinical Sciences either through earned Academic credentials OR through Tested Experience. Specific minimum credentials are required for some courses, which are shown below:
Minimum Academic Credentials Required for Biological Clinical Science
- An earned Master’s degree in Biology from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- Or an earned Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a combination of the following qualifying fields:
- Biology
- Biochemistry
- Biomedicine
- Bio-Tech
- Cell and Molecular Biology
- Marine Biology
- Microbiology
- Natural and Applied Science
- Nursing
- Virology
- Zoology
Meeting this qualification would make a candidate eligible to teach BCS 115, BCS 132, BCS 165, BCS 200, 205 and BCS 210.
Minimum Tested Experience Required for Biological Clinical Science
- For BCS 115, 132, 165, 200, 205, 210:

- A current advanced license to provide healthcare (such as a D.O., D.D.S., D.C.M., D.P.T., D.V.M., M.D., M.S.N., M.Ph., N.P., or P.A.)

- An earned Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education AND
- At least 3 years experience with advising for multiple selective admissions healthcare programs AND
- At least 3 years teaching experience at the post-secondary level

- An earned Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in Exercise Science with graduate course work in Anatomy and Physiology OR

- An earned Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited institution of higher education and a minimum of 2 years’ experience practicing as a licensed professional in a related health care field (such as R.N., R.D., etc.) OR
- An earned Master’s degree in Nutrition from a regionally accredited institution of higher education

- An earned Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and a minimum of 2 years’ experience practicing as a licensed radiology technician
