Dr. Jessica Gerard was born and raised in New Zealand, and did her Ph.D. in history at the University of London in Great Britain.  She married an American and immigrated to the United States. Dr. Gerard has taught at three universities and has taught here at OTC since 2001. She has two daughters, the younger adopted from China.  This has led to her fascination with China’s history and society, and she has taken OTC students on study abroad trips to China during the last decade.  Dr. Gerard continues to lead study abroad trips: the next destination will be Peru!

Dr. Gerard primarily teaches HST 105 (World History I), and HST 120 (American History I).
