The Social Science Department offers courses in Anthropology. In ANT 101, students study the human condition through an examination of four sub-fields: physical/biological, ethnology/cultural, linguistic, and archaeological. Our ANT 101 course meets Core 42 criteria and is transferable to four-year institutions.

The department also offers an elective course in Cultural Anthropology (ANT 220). In this course, students study the ways in which people live throughout the world and write accounts of cultures, known as ethnographies, to gain insights into the human condition.
