Student Eligibility & Admission Guidelines for Dual Credit
Students seeking enrollment through OTC Dual Credit should meet or exceed the following eligibility and admission guidelines. Compliance with student eligibility and admission guidelines is the designated high school’s responsibility. Students must complete enrollment in DualEnroll, only.
For online courses through the Dual Credit program:
- 3.0Â cumulative high school grade point average
- Satisfactory guided self-placement for English and math
- 16 years of age
- Recommended by the high school counselor, principal, or homeschooling parent
- Parent permission
For seated classes, offered at the partner high school, with an approved high school instructor:
- 11th or 12th grade student with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher
- 11th or 12th grade student with a GPA between 2.5-2.99 and recommended by the high school principal and/or his/her official designee
- 10th grade student with a 3.0 GPA or higher and recommended by the high school principal and/or his/her official designee
- 9th grade student with a 3.0 GPA or higher, 90th percentile or above on the ACT or SAT, and recommended by the high school principal and/or his/her official designee
- Recommended by the high school counselor and/or principal
- Parent permission
