Become a Tutor or Receptionist

Tutors

Prospective TLC Tutors must be in good academic standing, have earned a B or higher in each course of their specialty area, and received a letter of recommendation from an instructor in their specialty area. See the TLC Application Requirements below.

Academic Tutors

  • Accounting (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in ACC 220 or ACC 225)
  • Anatomy & Physiology (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in BCS 132 or BCS 165)
  • Biology (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in BIO 100 or higher)
  • Chemistry (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in CHM 101 or CHM 160)
  • Computers (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in CIS 101 or higher)
  • Languages (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in courses in language subject area)
  • Math (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in MTH 130 or higher)
  • Physics (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in PHY 120 or higher)
  • Programming (must have earned a grade of ‘B’ or higher in CIS 120)
  • Academic Coaches (must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher)

Application to be a Tutor

Prospective TLC Tutors must be in good academic standing and have earned a B or higher in each course of their specialty area. In addition, request a letter of recommendation from an instructor in the specialty area and have it sent to tlc@otc.edu.
