OTC wants to help you take your dental career to the next level with new and specialized skills. Dental assistants and hygienists can earn industry-recognized permits and certificates from many of our courses. Enhancing your degree and experience with additional training allows you more opportunities within the dental practice.
All expanded functions curriculum has been approved by the Missouri Dental Board.
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or;
- Successfully complete the Missouri Dental Assisting Skills Examination or;
- Dental Hygiene license
Formerly referred to as the Missouri Test of Basic Dental Assisting Skills examination, the completion of the MDAS exam can be used as a pathway to complete your dental expanded function courses. Here is a link to the MDAS Application Packet. This application packet includes more information about policies, procedures, requirements, and the forms required to apply to take the exam. For additional information, the Missouri Dental Board or the Dental Assisting National Board website may assist you.
