The OTC Faculty Senate is an elected representative body, which advocates for faculty and promotes causes impacting the classroom and student success. The senate fosters an environment of continual improvement at OTC by promoting communication between faculty and other groups on campus, seeking accurate data to inform positions taken by faculty, and assuring appropriate faculty participation at all levels of college governance. Simply put, the senate is faculty members’ voice outside of their classrooms and respective departments. The senate is led by the Executive Council, who host regular meetings to make decisions on behalf of the faculty. Senators are elected from all three academic divisions and represent many disciplines.
