Who should attend:

For current industry professionals who possess a variety of on-the-job experiences and want to strengthen their knowledge of Plumbing Codes as outlined in the 2018 International Plumbing Code, published by the International Code Council. Please note, local jurisdictions (cities and counties) adopt and enforce their own building codes; however, the 2018 International Plumbing Code currently applies to the City of Springfield and will be used as a reference in this course. 

Course Description

This course provides an overview of codes and their application. Discusses the different codes used by plumbers across the country and explains how those codes are written, adopted, implemented and applied. It is not intended as a boot camp or plumbing codes test preparation course but will address code applications using the context of the 2018 International Plumbing Code.

What You'll Learn:

The basic fundamentals of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or “Mig” welding), including how to:

  • Demonstrate safe welding practices
  • Demonstrate appropriate GMAW equipment setup
  • Perform flat groove welds and horizontal fillet welds to AWS acceptance criteria with gas metal arc welding
  • Fabricate simple items from shop drawings using GMAW
