Who should attend:

This is an intro to Mig/wire feed welding. This class would be great for hobbyists wanting to learn some basics or anyone wanting to see if welding is for them. It is somewhat common on the agriculture side of things for quick repairs (along with SMAW or “stick” welding). This type of welding is used in industry, but the less in local industry than the other 2 welding short term classes.

Course Description

Students will learn the theory and fundamentals of the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process including electrode selection, weld joint fundamentals and striking an arc. Students will perform flat and horizontal groove welds and flat and horizontal fillet welds according to AWS acceptance criteria.
