Did you know?

Putting a streaming video in your Canvas course or playing a film for a group outside of the classroom may violate copyright, particularly if it is a dramatic/feature film and the entire film is shown. All videos on library streaming platforms (Films on Demand, Feature Films for Education, and Kanopy) are licensed for use in face-to-face and online courses. Some library streaming platforms also include Public Performance Rights (PPR), including all videos on Films On Demand, and some videos in Kanopy.

No ✘

  • If an instructor is showing the film to officially registered students in a face-to-face classroom, where the content of the film directly relates to the course*
