Office: Springfield Campus-936 N. Hampton-Suite ECC 210
As a department chair for early childhood development at OTC, Marilyn Madden has been administering, managing, developing and implementing best-practice programs in service of Springfield children within the department since 2015. More than 300 students learn within the department’s program, gaining skills by teaching 80 children at OTC’s accredited lab school.
The lab school is one of Marilyn’s favorite places on campus, where children, families and students alike interact within the Lewis Family Early Childhood Education Center. As leader of the program and its students, she is actively involved in research and advocacy on behalf of all learners within the department, young and old.
Marilyn holds a master’s degree in family life studies from the University of Southern Mississippi and is also a certified family mediator. She is also certified by Frank Porter Graham Institute to assess early childhood classroom environments. Currently, she teaches practicum courses for Career and Technical Education, which involve on-site field experience in early learning settings for students.
