Make a difference in the lives of young children by joining the OTC Early Childhood Development Program. Our mission is to provide every student with developmentally appropriate and differentiated learning approaches using standards, theory, and current research applied with innovative teaching methods. Our program enjoys a special connection to the community as students have the opportunity to teach local children through the Early Childhood Education Center. The Center provides valuable, hands-on opportunities for OTC students to apply the knowledge and skills they gain in class. Featuring immersive learning environments in an on-site lab school, student teachers will earn experience they can transfer to the workforce. We offer an Associate of Science degree and a Certificate of Achievement, both in Early Childhood Development. Graduates will be qualified to seek work as a school paraprofessional, early childhood teacher or manage their own in-home child care center. Other graduates choose to continue their education by pursuing a four-year degree.
The Early Childhood Development Program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
