The Center for Public Safety (CPS) serves as a recruiting, advising and training hub for those in the public safety and emergency management professions. The center’s mission is to support students interested in a career in public safety as well as professionals seeking career advancement and continuing education opportunities. The CPS was founded at the request of local law enforcement, healthcare, emergency management and fire safety organizations. One of the center’s main goals is to promote interagency coordination to improve the response and recovery efforts of public safety agencies in OTC’s service region. The CPS currently supports the college’s Fire Science Technology, Paramedicine, and Criminal Justice programs as well as the Center of Excellence for Medical Simulation. The center promotes these programs and services with the purpose of attracting and serving public safety professionals across the state.
