James Ackerman
James Ackerman has taught Human Communication, Introduction to Public Speaking, and Introduction to Communication Theory courses at both OTC and Missouri State University since 2007. He teaches both seated and online courses. James has always had a passion for communication. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Master of Arts degree in Communication from Missouri State University. Currently, he is finishing his doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership from Lindenwood University. When he is not in class teaching or in meetings you can find him in the Speech Communication Center where students are tutored in the art of public speaking. James has served there as the director since 2012. He is married to his wonderful wife Tara, has an adorable one year old son named Reese, and two dogs Maggie and Morgan which are miniature schnauzers.
