MEDICAL ASSISTANT

The Medical Assistant Program at OTC (Ozarks Technical Community College) is for people who want to work in healthcare. Medical assistants are essential to the healthcare team and work in places like clinics. This 16-week program teaches students the skills to be great medical assistants.

We offer two ways to complete the program. One way is the evening path, which meets two nights a week. Students also need to do 160 hours of clinical work during weekdays. This means working twice weekly to finish the clinical hours before the program ends.

The other way is the apprenticeship program, which meets Monday to Friday for eight hours daily, either in class or in a clinical setting.
Students in this program are hired and paid by CoxHealth. If you are interested, please contact CoxHealth human resources.

Both programs use a mix of online learning and face-to-face classes. Students need a computer to watch online lectures before attending in-person lab sessions.

The mission of the CCMA program is we prepare entry level medical assistant training by meeting students where they are, offering out of the box learning methods in an effort to provide the community with qualified healthcare workers at a low cost to students. Our team will review the mission statement each year during professional development day.
