Dr. Matt Hudson is a Springfield native and a life-long educator. He knew he wanted to be a teacher when he was in elementary school. He pursued his passion and went on to become a high school teacher, instructing students in business and English classes as well as computer-related courses at Hillcrest High School.
He became the assistant principal at Hillcrest for a semester before serving as assistant principal at Parkview High School for eight years. He then became the coordinator of secondary operations at Springfield Public Schools for two years, working closely with OTC to ensure the highest caliber of education for the high school students on its campus.
In 2015, Dr. Hudson became the dean of technical education. He serves students every day by hiring the best caliber of staff to serve student needs, while facilitating resources to reach classrooms. He also teaches classes as an adjunct instructor to keep his perspective focused on student learning.
Dr. Hudson received bachelor’s degrees in English and Secondary education with a minor in business from Drury University. He went on to receive his master’s of secondary education administration from Missouri State. Then, he completed a specialist degree in educational administration and a doctorate in executive leadership from St. Louis University.
