Nicaragua Dental Trip

Trip leader: Rebecca Caeres

Rebecca Caceres has been a registered dental hygienist for many years, but in 2006 she went to Nicaragua as a full-time missionary.  She coordinated the medical and dental missions and healthcare education.  She traveled throughout Nicaragua to provide dental clinics for oral healthcare in the impoverished rural areas.

After she joined the OTC faculty as a dental programs instructor, she utilized her experiences and contacts in Nicaragua to create a service learning program for students in the dental program.  The first trip was in 2012.
