Schedule with RegisterBlast at Ozarks Tech Testing Services, Springfield Campus

NOTE: This scheduling information is for Springfield Campus ONLY. If you need to schedule with a different testing location, refer to the location’s testing information.

What is Registerblast?

RegisterBlast is an exam registration software used within Canvas that allows instructors to submit exams to the Ozarks Tech Testing Center. This also allows students to schedule exam appointments from within their specific Canvas courses. Once an exam is submitted, a testing center administrator will approve it, and an email will go out to the instructor, letting them know the exam is ready to be taken. Important:

All students and examinees are required to make an appointment.  

Use RegisterBlast to schedule for the following exams:

  • Ozarks Tech Exams
    • Online Proctored Exams
    • Make-Up Exams for seated or online courses

To schedule an Ozarks Tech exam, log into Canvas, go to your course, and select RegisterBlast from the left menu.

Please Note: Appointments cannot be scheduled or rescheduled by phone or email.

Scheduling an Exam Appointment

The Ozarks Tech Testing Center uses RegisterBlast for all exam appointments. This system allows students to schedule, reschedule, or cancel their own appointments.

Appointments cannot be scheduled by phone or email.

For students scheduling exams at the Springfield campus: 

  1. From within your Canvas course, use the RegisterBlast link in the course menu on the left.
  2. Select the exam to schedule.
  3. Choose a date/time within the testing window.
  4. Agree to the exam guidelines.
  5. Add to cart and confirm.
  6. Arrive at Testing Services on the testing date with an ID and any allowed materials.
  7. Make sure you know your Canvas login information.

Important Notes:

  • If you do not see a RegisterBlast link in the left menu of your Canvas course, see “Unable to find course, exam, or open date” below.
  • If a fee is listed next to your exam name, payment must be submitted through Ozarks Tech: Pay For Your Exam
  • You can make, reschedule, and cancel appointments at your convenience through the RegisterBlast system.

Unable to find course, exam, or open date

If your Ozarks Tech exam is showing, but future dates are grayed out:

If you are taking the exam earlier or later than the usual exam period:

  1. Make sure you have permission from your instructor to take the exam on a different date. The dates may simply be grayed out because the exam isn’t open on the day you’re trying to select.
  2. If you have instructor permission, the exam may be entered into RegisterBlast as a copy with a different name:
    • In the Exam dropdown, check for other exams with similar names, perhaps with modifiers such as “Clone of” or “Extended”.
    • If you see a similarly-named exam, select that one, and see if more dates become available.
    • If not, use the method described below to schedule with “I don’t see my course.”

 

If the Ozarks Tech course or exam you are trying to schedule for isn’t listed:

If you went to RegisterBlast in any way other than through your Canvas course, try going in through Canvas and see if that changes your options. If you still don’t see your course, or you see your course but not the exam you need to take:

  1. Go to this Exam Registration link
  2. Click “Sign on using School Credentials.”
    • If you are an Ozarks Tech student and sign in differently than this, you will not be able to find your course exam; this will delay finalization of your appointment and may result in delays checking in. 
  3. You will be redirected to an Ozarks Tech sign-in page. Sign in using your Ozarks Tech username and password.
  4. Choose the group, “An OTC Course Exam.”
  5. In the Course drop-down, select “I don’t see my course.”
  6. In the Exam drop-down, select “2-hour Makeup Exam.”
  7. Fill in the prompts detailing which course and which exam you need to schedule for.
  8. Add to Cart (there is no charge), and Complete Registration.
  9. Testing Services staff will reach out to your instructor to obtain exam information.

Troubleshooting scheduling errors

If you receive an error when scheduling an Ozarks Tech exam:

  1. Make sure you are clicking “Sign in with School Credentials”
  2. Make sure your browser is a current version of modern browser. Some common browsers include: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera.
    • NOTE: Safari will not work with Canvas and RegisterBlast.
  3. Delete your cookies, refresh your browser, and try again
  4. Clear your cache, refresh your browser, and try again
  5. Try another browser
  6. Try to register on another device

If those actions don’t resolve your error, see “RegisterBlast Support” below.

Rescheduling an exam

If you initially entered RegisterBlast through Canvas, the easiest way to reschedule is by re-entering RegisterBlast through Canvas.  

  1. Log into Canvas and access RegisterBlast.
  2. Click the  My Exams or  My History tab at the top of that page. 
  3. Enter the email address you used to schedule your exam. 
  4. Click the Continue button underneath the email field. 
  5. Within a few minutes, you will receive an email with a link which is valid for 90 minutes. 
  6. Click the  link from the email to open your registration history.
  7. Select the  Reschedule link. 
  8. A calendar will appear showing available dates times. Select your new date and time to reschedule. 
  9. After you have completed the step above, you will receive a confirmation email notifying you of the new test date.

Faculty Scheduling Information

Ozarks Tech instructors must enable RegisterBlast in their Canvas course for students to be able to schedule an exam for your class. Please refer to the Testing Services module in the Faculty Resources section of Canvas (requires login) for instructions on how to enable RegisterBlast and submit exams.
