Wondering what you need to know about taking an exam with Testing Services on the Ozarks Tech Springfield Campus?

What do I need to do before my test day?

  • Sign-up ahead of time for the date and time you would like to take your exam
    • Pick one time slot for EACH test you’ll be taking that day
    • Time slots last 2 hours. If your exam is longer than 2 hours, please plan accordingly!
  • If  you’re taking a make-up exam (early OR late), make sure you coordinate with your instructor
  • Some proctored events cannot be taken with Testing Services:
    • Proctored Event assignments where you just upload a picture of yourself and/or your ID
    • COM-100/105 Proctored Event – those are done with the Speech Communication Center
    • If you plan to use an accommodation other than extended time, those need to be taken with Disability Support Services

What do I need to do on test day?

  • If you need to use the restroom, go ahead and do that before coming to check in for your exam!
  • Come to ICE 123A (east end of the Information Commons – you’ll see signs once you’re close)
  • Arrive 15 min before check-in to account for lines and technical issues
  • Please wait behind the stop sign until you are called to the Front Desk to check in
  • Have a valid photo ID with you, and be prepared to show it to the Front Desk staff
    • Types of accepted ID:
      • Ozarks Tech Student ID
      • Driver’s/Non-Driver’s License
      • Passport
  • Know your student ID number
  • Please know your instructor’s name, and your course name (e.g. MTH 130)
  • If you bring your own calculator, it will be inspected at check-in
  • For online exams, make sure you know your Ozarks Tech username and password
    • This is the same login info you use with Canvas and your Ozarks Tech email account
  • Any specific instructions for your exam will be given during check-in

What happens during my exam?

  • Be prepared to follow Testing Center guidelines, which include:
    • Speak quietly, when necessary, so as not to disturb fellow testers
    • Smartwatches and phones must be turned off and stored on our shelves
    • Hats and sunglasses must be removed and stored
    • Be considerate toward those around you
    • No food or drink
      • Drinks may be placed on the shelves at the side of the room, but may not be at a testing station
    • Exams MUST be turned in by closing time. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please plan accordingly.

    • Scratch paper must be turned in or placed in recycling bin before leaving the testing room
  • Resources Testing Services provides:
    • Earplugs
    • Pencils
    • Scratch paper
    • Scientific calculators, when allowed/applicable
    • Friendly assistance (raise your hand if you need help at any point – we’re happy to help!)
  • Note: Test-takers in the center will be under physical and/or electronic (video and/or software) surveillance while in the testing center.
