OTC Medical Laboratory Technician and Phlebotomy Programs
Ozarks Technical Community College’s Medical Laboratory Technician Program prepares students for work as medical laboratory technicians. A medical laboratory technician is an indispensable partner in health care who performs a wide variety of medical tests on blood, tissue and other bodily fluids that assist physicians in making a diagnosis and guiding therapeutic decisions.
The MLT program prepares students to understand blood’s function, test cellular components, analyze data on diagnostic procedures, identify and handle microorganisms in a clinical setting, develop phlebotomy skills and much more. The coursework is a blend of classroom and clinical learning with instruction taking place at the OTC Richwood Valley campus.
Program graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.). Our graduates work in a variety of healthcare-related settings including medical laboratories, crime labs, blood banks, veterinary laboratories and medical equipment companies.
The Medical Laboratory Technician Program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
