The mission of the Department of Life Sciences at OTC is to support students as they learn about the living world around them.  Our department includes all biology courses (BIO) as well lifetime wellness (HTL-101), and our experienced faculty teach students to understand, respect and appreciate life and its reciprocal relationship within communities.

The Associate of Science in Biology degree at OTC is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field.   Students pursuing an A.S. in biology at OTC study foundational topics in the life sciences including courses in general biology, environmental science, human nutrition, advanced biology, and genetics with the goal of learning to understand, appreciate and respect the living world around them.
