Meld passion and principle with the Welding Technology program at OTC. Depth of training required for jobs in the welding industry vary, but this practical program provides skills-based instruction needed to secure jobs in this lucrative industry. The program is certified by the American Welding Society (AWS). Classes include Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Advanced Gas Metal Arc Welding and Welding Inspection Technology. Upon completion, students receive the Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology. For an expedited path to employment, students may also complete the short-term program to obtain a Welding Technology Certificate.
Welding Mission Statement
The mission of the Welding Technology program at Ozarks Technical Community College is to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain employment as an entry level welder/fabricator in a manufacturing, structural, or architectural environment. The application of welding/fabricating standards and skills will be examined with the study of basic to advanced welding and metalworking projects. The program uses the American Welding Society and the aid of a technical advisory committee to develop course content and competencies that will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the welding and fabrication industry.
