OTC Announces New Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Ozarks Technical Community College has plans to expand its program offerings with a new Associate of Applied Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Upon approval, the program would begin in the fall of 2025.

We want to inform you of the process that we must follow in order to offer the new program (this includes the ability to offer financial aid). Please monitor this website frequently for the progress we have made.

*   Please be patient with us: Until formal approval is given from all three entities, we cannot register or enroll students into the programs with the guarantee of financial aid being available to the student.

Program Approval Timeline

Hire Program Director

Ozarks Technical Community College hires a program director for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (Michelle Masengill).

04/2024

COMPLETED

Program Director Develops Curriculum

The program director develops curriculum for the program and it is approved by the college’s curriculum committee per college Policy 2.02.

Once the college’s curriculum committee has approved the program, it then must obtain approval from the following organizations.

05/2024

COMPLETED

HLC Approval

Approval from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) – the college’s accreditor, through substantive change *

U.S. Department of Education Approval

Approval from the U.S. Department of Education – which determines if the program is eligible for Title IV Funding (federal financial aid) *

Programmatic Review

The college will then undergo the programmatic accreditation process through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

OTC can open the admissions process for these selective admission programs. Please monitor the Health Sciences website for admission information and deadlines.
