{"id":63717,"date":"2021-11-17T18:18:28","date_gmt":"2021-11-17T18:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/academics.otc.edu\/springfieldtesting\/?page_id=63717"},"modified":"2025-01-06T22:48:28","modified_gmt":"2025-01-06T22:48:28","slug":"parapro","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/academics.otc.edu\/springfieldtesting\/parapro\/","title":{"rendered":"ETS-ParaPro"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Beginning January 2025 we are offering the ETS-ParaPro<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>What is the ETS-ParaPro Assesment?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ets.org\/parapro\/test-takers\/about.html\">ParaPro Assessment<\/a> is a general aptitude test for prospective and practicing paraprofessionals that measures your:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>skills and knowledge in reading, writing and math<\/li>\n<li>ability to apply them when assisting in classroom instruction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It\u2019s required for certification in many states. See the\u00a0<a title=\"States and school districts that require the ParaPro Assessment for certification, along with the qualifying score for each\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ets.org\/content\/ets-org\/language-master\/en\/home\/parapro\/test-takers\/state-requirements.html\">State Requirements<\/a>\u00a0to see if it\u2019s required in your state.<\/p>\n<h4>The Paraprofessional Assessment<\/h4>\n<p>Paraprofessionals are required to hold a substitute certificate, have 60 college hours OR have passed the Paraprofessional Assessment in order to work under the direct supervision of a certified teacher to provide instructional assistance. The Paraprofessional Assessment is required for individuals seeking to be employed as teaching assistants residing in Title I schools. The test measures competencies in English language arts and basic mathematics skills for practicing and prospective paraprofessionals. Please see the<a href=\"https:\/\/dese.mo.gov\/educator-quality\/certification\/how-do-i-become-paraprofessional-and-do-i-need-be-certified\"> DESE Website for more information here<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;15px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>ETS-ParaPro Hours and Location<\/h2>\n<p>Ozarks Tech administers ETS-ParaPro Paraprofessional exams on the Springfield Campus in the Testing Services office. Our location is in the Information Commons East (ICE) 123A.<\/p>\n<p>All ETS-ParaPro assessments require a two-step scheduling process. Once you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.registerblast.com\/otcspringfield\/Exam\/List\">schedule<\/a>, you will need to pay Ozarks Tech $55. Please bring a printed receipt of payment with you on exam day along with the proper photo identification.<\/p>\n<p>We do not accept walk-ins.<\/p>\n<h2>Payment Options<\/h2>\n<h3>Pay Online with Commerce Manager<\/h3>\n<p>You may pay your testing fees online using the Commerce Manager Payer. There will be a non-refundable $3.00 processing fee when paying with Commerce Manager.<\/p>\n<p>*Please bring a printed receipt with you to Testing Services on day of exam.<\/p>\n<h3>Pay Cash at Student Account Services<\/h3>\n<p>Located at the Student Services Counter in ICW 109 (8:00AM \u2013 5:00PM, Monday \u2013 Friday).
