Do I have to be a student at the Springfield campus to use the library?
The OTC Libraries and Academic Support Resources are available to all OTC students, faculty, and staff, regardless of your campus or program. All OTC students may borrow books, use eResources, and take advantage of the physical library space. Students from any campus can request books and other print materials to be sent to their primary location.

Where is the library located on campus?
Springfield Campus:
The OTC Hamra Library is located in the center of the Information Commons Building on the ground floor in IC100. The main entrance to the library opens into the Jared Family Atrium in Information Commons West, facing Starbucks. There is an automatic, wheelchair accessible door on the northwest side of the library.
Richwood Valley Campus:
The Richwood Valley Academic Learning Center is located in the center of the second floor of the Richwood Valley building.
Table Rock Campus:
The Table Rock Academic Support is located on the first floor of the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center.
What kinds of books can I find in the OTC library?
The Hamra Library features a unique collection of academic texts, classic and popular fiction, books for children and young adults, graphic novels, manga and comics, magazines, and DVDs. Students can also download the Libby app and sign in with their OTC log-in for free to access thousands of eBooks and audiobooks instantly.
Does the library have more than just books?
Yes, the Hamra Library has many resources and services for students! Students can borrow graphing calculators, headphones, noise reducing headphones, fidget kits, and in-library use webcams for classes and exams. The library features four dual-monitor computers for CIS students, as well as other open computers and color printing. There are spaces for individual and group study in the main library area, and students can also reserve a quiet study room. Additionally, the library has a board game collection that students can browse and check out games for in-library use.
How do I check out materials from the library?
Checking out materials is easy! The OTC library does not issue physical library cards, so all you need is an active OTC ID.
Does the library charge fines or fees?
The library does not charge fines or fees for late or overdue items. When an item becomes overdue, a hold will be placed on your student account until the item is returned or replaced. As long as the item is returned in its original condition, the fine is waived and the hold is removed. If an item is damaged or lost, you may be asked to pay a replacement fee as determined by the OTC Library Collections Manager.
How much can I check out?
OTC students, faculty, and staff are able to check out up to 10 items at a time. This also includes any Mobius or Interlibrary Loan materials.
How long can I keep things checked out?
Most OTC print materials loan for a period of 28 days and can be renewed twice, as long as there is not a waitlist for the item. Some of the test prep materials loan for a period of 7 days and can be renewed twice, as long as there is not a waitlist.

As of April 2025, Mobius loans currently have a checkout period of 40 days and cannot be renewed. Loans may be returned a requested again through Mobius.
