Sandra Pierce is a Secondary Education teacher for Middle College. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. She then taught elementary school for several years before taking a leave to raise her children. Upon returning to teaching, she earned her certification and taught special education for eight years. Ms. Pierce has her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. Ms. Pierce’s claim to fame is she was the first, and only, high school instructor hired to teach and help implement the program in 2008 when 32 students enrolled. She has been an essential component of the success and expansion Middle College has seen over the years. Mrs. Pierce has taught a variety of courses for Middle College including her favorite-summer PE class. In her spare time, Ms. Pierce enjoys being with her family, reading, combing flea markets, and being outdoors.
