Jon Herbert

Jon Herbert teaches theatre and drama classes including acting, directing, playwriting and script analysis. He received a Masters of Arts degree with honors in Theatre from Missouri State University and a Bachelors of Arts from University of Missouri in theatre performance where he was a scholarship recipient and McNair Scholar.  He also studied directing at Western Illinois University. Jon has been acting, directing, writing and teaching for over twenty years throughout the Midwest, as well as Cleveland and Los Angeles. His recent acting credits include the role of Sid Samay in Epilogue and the role of Odysseus in The Odyssey. Recent directing credits include Clue the Musical, Neil Simon’s The Good Doctor and a self-written original steampunk adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. In addition to this writing project, Jon has been developing The Lucy Chronicles, a series of short plays based on local Civil War history in the Ozark region. The plays have been presented at the Mid America Theatre Conference, the Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield and the Springfield-Greene County Library.
